Lose Weight For The Holidays

I need to lose weight before the holidays get here.  It’s the beginning of September and that means there’s two months before Halloween, three till Thanksgiving and four till Christmas.  I should be able to lose some weight before Christmas!

Are you avoiding pictures during the holiday time?  Me too.  I duck and dodge every one.  I feel awful because my girls will grow up without me in their pictures.  I’m ready to feel better, to feel confidant, to be included.  Are you?

I’m not setting unrealistic expectations and neither should you.  I don’t plan on being a toned size 2 by Christmas!  I want to fit comfortably in my clothes without muffin top bulging over or needing to unbutton my pants when I sit down.  That’s not a lot to ask.  Using a scale is a dangerous idea, click here to find out a better way to stay motivated and see results without a scale.

Today’s post isn’t full of stats and I didn’t do a lot of research.  This post is more about what I’m personally going through.  My goals I’m setting from here till the end of the year and how I’m going to achieve them.

The whole reason for this blog was to show the ups and downs and now I’m coming up from a down period.  We’ve all had them and we pick ourselves up and keep going.

Why I fell off the fitness wagon:

Recently I dealt with some medical set backs from my PCOS and Fibroids.  I was having biopsies done, thankfully they all came back clear, but I got depressed and worried.  I was having pains and didn’t feel like working out so back off the wagon I went.  Frustration sets in like it always does.

So now I’m very upset with myself.  I refuse to be overweight by next summer but really want to be in better shape before the holidays.  So I am making a plan now.

My plans to redeem myself:

A girlfriend and I are beginning to go to the gym together on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings as long as my work schedule permits.  I have a home gym in my basement with a punching bag, adjustable weight bench, row machine, treadmill, Weider Pro workout station, Supreme Pilates Pro machine, hand weights, resistance bands, training ladder, a ton of Beachbody DVD’s, Jillian Michael’s DVD’s and a few Pilates and Yoga DVD’s and many many more.

Yes that’s my little girl on the punching bag! 😛

There’s no reason I cannot get a great workout in at home.  So I begin again because I have to get back in my workout mindset and get it going full throttle.

Recently I printed off several 30 day challenge papers such as 30 day arm challenge, 30 day ab challenge and so on.  I thought that would be a great way to work my way up and get back in my groove.

Also, recently I posted on HIIT training and how it’s the best fat burner and calorie burner to do in the shortest amount of time and I’m seriously considering starting it three days a week and then using my Supreme Pilates Pro on the off days.  I will do the 30 day challenges as well.  I worry HIIT is too much to start with because I loathe cardio and that’s an intense exercise but I need to blast this waistline!  So I’ll give it a try and do what I can and build my way up!

There’s other ways to get a workout in at home.  My Supreme Pilates Pro is my absolute favorite at home workout.  It has Yoga, Pilates and Ballet Barre workouts in one machine with resistance training.  It’s under $300 and ships directly to you!  Amazing.

Like many moms this time of year, my work schedule is crazy and my daughters are both in extracurricular’s such as volleyball and gymnastics so I do a lot of running.  When I get home, like most working moms, I just want to relax.  Cleaning my house has taken a back seat too and I know that’s wrong.

So I’m asking all the moms struggling right now to join me.  Let’s get something started now and show some before and after pictures at the end of the year!

So today is Monday September 4 and I’m starting something.  I’m going to get a least a 30 minute workout in if it kills me.  I will lose at least 10 pounds by Halloween!  Who’s with me?
